Rev. Dr. Steven R. Giddens, Ph.D., M.Div., M.A., LPCC, NCC, ACS

I am a Lacanian psychoanalyst, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and ordained minister in the United Church of Christ (UCC). My psychoanalytic practice follows the theories and clinical practices of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan, providing an open and tailored approach to analysis centered on each client's individual needs and circumstances.

After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, I began my educational journey at Sterling College, earning a B.A. in Therapeutic Applications of Outdoor Education with a minor in Farming and Equine Agricultural Therapies in 2014. I then pursued a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite Seminary and University in 2018 and 2019. My doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from North Dakota State University's College of Health and Human Services was completed in 2023, with my dissertation titled "Embarking on the Analytical Odyssey: A Phenomenological Exploration of the Psychoanalytic Journey of Formation," which explores the transformative journey of aspiring psychoanalysts.

As a member of the School of Psychoanalysis of the Forums of the Lacanian Field (SPFLF), the Colorado Psychoanalytic Forum, and the Clinical College of Colorado, I continue my professional development through ongoing peer support and continuing education, integrating spirituality, psychoanalysis, and personal growth in my practice and research.
