Rev. Dr. Steven R. Giddens, Ph.D., M.Div., M.A., LPC, NCC, ACS, is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and ordained minister in the United Church of Christ (UCC) who recently earned his doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from North Dakota State University's College of Health and Human Services. His dissertation, titled "Embarking on the Analytical Odyssey: A Phenomenological Exploration of the Psychoanalytic Journey of Formation," explores the transformative journey of aspiring psychoanalysts.

After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Rev. Dr. Giddens began his educational journey at Sterling College, earning a B.A. in Therapeutic Applications of Outdoor Education with a minor in Farming and Equine Agricultural Therapies in 2014. He then pursued a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite Seminary and University in 2018 and 2019.

As a Lacanian psychoanalyst and member of the School of Psychoanalysis of the Forums of the Lacanian Field (SPFLF), the Colorado Psychoanalytic Forum, and the Clinical College of Colorado, Rev. Dr. Giddens approaches psychotherapy from the theories and clinical practices of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. He provides an open and tailored approach to analysis centered on each client's individual needs and circumstances.

Rev. Dr. Giddens holds an LPC license in North Dakota (license #1173-1-1-22) and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor - Interim Telehealth in Vermont (license #068.0135894TELE). He also holds several other certifications, including National Certified Counselor (NCC #1723603, 2023) and Aproved Clinical Supervisor (ACS #5374, 2024) from the National Board for Certified Councelors (NBCC), Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Facilitator (2020), Prepare-Enrich Marriage and Family Facilitation (2019), United Church of Christ Ordination (2018), Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Behavioral Health (2018), Living Works ASIST Suicide Awareness Training (2018), and ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education Level 1 (2016). He continues his professional development through ongoing peer support and continuing education, integrating spirituality, psychoanalysis, and personal growth in his practice and research.
 

Please note that Rev. Dr. Giddens is currently only offering telehealth services to residents of Vermont.
